Scott Britt
First metric master to challenge American customs

Scott started making waves with metric customs long before most people put "metric" and "custom" in the same sentence. He built his first custom Yamaha XS1100 in 1981, at 23. Moving on to the V-Max in 1985, Scott earned a reputation for stretched, tire-roasting machines. Then, when Yamaha released the first Royal Star in 1995, Scott and his crew focused
on the new bike - and quickly shook up the American custom market.

In 1997, one of those Royal Stars became the first metric bike to be entered in the radical custom class at Daytona Bike Week's Rat's Hole Show. The next year, another Britt bombshell named "Speedstar" was ranked in the top 100 customs at Bike Week. Then, in December 1999, Speedstar became the first metric bike ever to appear on the cover of an Easy Wrier magazine {V-Twin).

Scott's shop, Brttt Custom Metrix in Wilrmngton, North Carolina, grew from the Yamaha dealership that his dad started in 1976. Today,
BCM has a full-time staff of fabricators and an in-house paint shop. The company produces standout metric customs and many unique parts.
